Student Involvement Fair
- The Office of Student Life sponsors a Fall and a Spring Student Involvement Fair. These events are exclusively open to recognized and Active RSOs in order to promote their organizations and recruit new members. Both events require signups from RSOs to participate, as space and tables are limited. Signups are sent out approximately 3-4 weeks prior to each event.
- The Office of Student Life provides tables for each confirmed organization. Chairs are provided upon request. Only one organization may use a table, and sharing is prohibited. All organizations are encouraged to bring their own table cloths and promotional materials. The Office of Student Life cannot print materials for any organization.
- Participation in Student Involvement Fairs is a privilege, and all RSOs are expected to adhere to the guidelines outlined in each signup form, as different locations may have different requirements. If an organization does not sign up, they are not eligible to participate. Standing with promotional materials or using another organization’s table will result in the organization being promptly asked to leave, and could impact their ability to participate in future Involvement Fairs.
Student Organization Summit
- Each Fall semester, the Office of Student Life collaborates with other offices and departments across campus to host the Student Organization Summit (SOS). SOS is hosted on-campus and attendance is a requirement for all organizations in order to remain Active. Each organization must send at least 1 representative. Students can represent up to 2 different organizations.
- The format of the event may change depending on the perceived needs of RSOs, but typically will involve a Welcome session, along with multiple breakout sessions. Each organization must have a representative in each session block (this does not mean each breakout session) in order to be counted as present.
- Student feedback after each session is strongly encouraged, so that the Office of Student Life can continue to plan in accordance with student needs and requests.
- Failure to have your organization represented at SOS will result in your organization being placed on Inactive status.
Roscars: Student Org Awards
- RSOs do a lot of work each year to not only support the experiences of their members, but also to engage non-members and the rest of the campus community in different events and programs. All RSOs are strongly encouraged to submit nominations for applicable categories in order to have their organizations recognized for all the hard work they’ve done.
- The Roscars celebratory lunch is held each April for finalists in each category. Winners are announced at the event.
- The Student Org Awards wall, located between BSC 209 and BSC 211, is updated each summer to reflect the winners for the prior academic year.
- Students are encouraged to reach out to studentlife@tcnj.edu if they have any questions or would like assistance with their nomination submissions.
